What you are buying

A website, built by me, delivered as ordinary files that work in any browser without anything having to run in the background. When it is finished it lives in a hosting account in your name and I hand you every login.

What it costs

$2,400, fixed. The only variation is $800 more if you trade from more than one location, or your work splits into enough separate jobs that each needs its own page. You will be told which of those applies before any work starts. Nothing else gets added later.

50% to start, 50% before it goes live. Nothing is due to look at the demo. The first half falls due only once you have seen it and asked me to build the rest.

If you change your mind after work has started, we settle it in whatever way is fair given how much is built. I would rather agree that in writing with you at the time than print a rule here I might not want to apply.

There is nothing recurring

No monthly fee, no retainer, no subscription, and nothing that renews on its own. There is no contract term to run out and nothing to cancel, because nothing is running.

Who owns what

You do. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is created on your email, the form endpoint is yours, and the finished site is yours to keep, change, move or throw away. You do not need my permission for any of that and you do not need to come back to me.

Your photos, your logo, your words and your reviews stay yours throughout — I am only ever arranging them. I may mention publicly that I built your site, and show it as an example, but only if you have said yes to that. If you would rather I did not, say so and that is the end of it.

What you give me needs to be yours to give. Photos taken by someone else, logos designed by someone else, or text copied from another site can cause you a problem later, so if you are unsure about something, say so and we will leave it out.

Changes while it is being built

You see the site at a preview address before it goes live, and changes at that stage are expected — that is what the stage is for. What counts as finished is something we agree in writing before I start, so neither of us is guessing.

Your credentials

I will never ask you for a password — not your email, not your bank, not your domain registrar. Where something needs setting up, it is set up in your name with you present, or I send you exactly what to enter and you do it yourself. I do not keep copies of your logins, because I never have them in the first place.

Your email

Moving a domain carelessly can interrupt a business's email, so your mail settings are recorded in full before anything changes, carried across unchanged, and tested — sending and receiving — before the job is called done. If something does go wrong, I fix it as a priority over anything else I am working on.

Hosting

Your site is hosted free, in your own account, and I am not charging you for it or taking anything from the host. I cannot promise a company I do not control will keep its free tier forever. If it ever changed, your site is ordinary files and can be moved anywhere — you would not be trapped, which is rather the point of building it this way.

What I am not responsible for

I cannot promise particular results. Nobody honestly can — how many people call you depends on your prices, your reviews, your competitors and your trade, not only on your website. Anyone who guarantees you rankings or a number of leads is guessing at best.

I am also not responsible for services I do not run — your domain registrar, your host, your email provider or a third-party booking tool having an outage. Where I can help you sort it out, I will.

If either of us walks away

You can stop at any point, and so can I. Whatever has been paid covers whatever has been done, you keep everything already in your name, and neither of us owes the other an explanation. There is nothing to terminate and no notice period.
